A selection of projects I have worked on:

A. Production of intake and exhaust valves as well as valve seat inserts. 

  • Optimisation of the production of intake and exhaust valves according to lean principles. 

  • Reduction of scrap during build-up welding of intake and exhaust valves as well as valve seat inserts.

  • Reduction of sporadic scrap during upsetting and forging of intake and exhaust valves.

  • Preparation (audit-ready) of a production of inlet and exhaust valves as well as seat rings at two locations for a certification according to EN 9100 (aviation industry)

  • Training and management of set-up teams to optimise set-up times on focal machines with the help of SMED systematics

  • Development of specific metallographic test methods in the manufacture of valves and seat rings

 

B. Other industries

  • Reduction of set-up times for complex deep-drawing tools for aluminium containers

  • Optimisation of material flow between previously merged European rolling mills through analysis, simulation and subsequent standardisation of coil sleeves as well as coil holders
